The 87th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature adjourned on Monday, May 31.
Over the course of the 140-day legislative session:
- 6,927 bills were filed;
- 1,073 bills were passed;
- 221 joint resolutions were filed; and
- 8 joint resolutions were passed.
In comparison to the 86th legislative session held two years ago,
- 7,324 bills were filed;
- 1,429 bills were passed;
- 56 bills were vetoed
- 217 joint resolutions were filed; and
- 10 joint resolutions were passed.
